Dixie joined our household in October of 2001.
We don't know her exact birthday so we use
Oct. 1, 2001. Debbie got a call about puppies
found in a dumpster while she was working for
animal control. After she picked her up, Dixie
rode around in the truck all day on the seat.
Debbie knew that there was something special
about her. She brought her home and put a big
bow on the front door for me to see when I got
home from work.

We got an ILP number on her so we could do
agility. She got her novice jumpers and standard
titles the same weekend. Then she decided she
didn't want to do it anymore. We aren't sure
what happened but something was causing her
stress in the ring. We decided not to make her
do it anymore if she didn't want to. Then we
tried rally. She got her novice title and then
didn't want to do it anymore. I think Dixie just
wanted to prove that she could do it and then
retire. Her real love is being a couch potato and
a red dog mascot. She does it quite well.
